Curious though, why the decision to go with animations and summaries off?

The Empire wants it. It can be changed if I recall, by the Japanese player to be on or off.

I normally play against the AI with it off. It does speed up running the replay, but at a cost of some information and visual goodies.

As the Allies I have the option of not watching the replay. You give up quite a lot of intel doing that, but at certain phases of the game is probably acceptable or even encouraged.

I got tracker up and running, along with combat reporter and intelmonkey. Not sure what all I will be using.

Also, not sure how long I will let Scout1 wander in to the AAR. The idea of a dual AAR is intriguing, but sure seems it would be difficult to manage. A second Allied or Japanese only AAR discussing tactics/strategy and secret stuff is far too burdensome for all involved.

For me personally, getting into tactics, toes, is the attraction of the AAR. I love learning new things (daily with this game), and experimenting.

I haven't looked at all the new toys Japan gets thanks to Andy other than his short notes. I want to be surprised.

I am currently overlooking the Allied OOB and units available, thinking about strategy and some tactics.

Hardly ever use tracker as allies, only to help with LCU completed moves, which is pretty small help.
Intel Monkey is huge help as allies to organize intel. I feel it is almost a cheat it is so much a help. I use it when testing for Andy Mac and I am playing allies, but I would never use it against the AI in a game, makes everything TOO easy.
Reporter: can't imagine NOT using it in every game. organizes all the action so you can see each area easily ... if it had the replay imbeded, it would be the ULTIMATE!

I don't really have much experience using it. Almost 0. Haven't been the Allies in a long long time and only against the original ironman.

Maybe I won't use it if it is that powerful.

I thought tracker would be of some use digging into the TOE of Allied forces, plus of course managing my plane builds![:D]

This is going to be 2 day game turn....

What I recall is that on ground combats if the attacker gets a 2-1 or greater the attack settings remain the same for the 2nd day of combat which can potentially be pretty catastrophic.

Routing task forces, offensive missions, reaction ranges, and aggressive commanders will have be monitored closely.

Overall, I think it slows down the pace of the game.

I use (Allied) tracker for the alerts and for ship upgrades/ conversions as it can get very confusing without it

Then to download CSV files from time to time; very helpful to figure out reinforcements and important LCUs that somehow got lost in some small USA base

I was never able to download intel monkey properly, and first time I am hearing about reporter, which I will check

yes, love it, use it.

I wish I had the skill to tie it to the replays, wow, that would be something ..., but the map tie in is great.

Combat Report is a kick ass tool ...

Also, I believe I may have a solution relative to this AAR and my access .... Perfectly happy to provide you Japanese Press Releases if you would be so kind as to post on this site ...

This way I won't access your AAR and ponder your strategies .....

Ah, propoganda ... Ahh, legitimate news from the eastern perspective. Yes, that will be quite entertaining to follow.

I use no third party program at all. This abstinence allows me to get deep into the weeds of how things function.

We can confirm that the British are denying the people of India the right to collect salt from the sea, making them pay for the inferior British salt that lacks iodine and other elements found in seawater. The British have been observed beating Indian salt farmers and destroying their harvest. Source: Mohandas Gandhi.

Been looking at the Allied oob, probably the first time in 6 or more years.[X(] Course, I kind of know the ships and planes, but there are a lot of interesting units with neat devices. So many go away.[:(] Such great diversity on how to spend PP.[:)]

You swap out Japanese economic management for pool device management. All the Allied factories just kind of sit there.[:(]

I don't think I have ever disbanded a ground unit before. I am going to have to brush up on that.[:D] If they don't surrender first, that is.[;)]

I try to use the screens in the game first. But ship & plane upgrades and especially finding them is tedious in game I find. Plus finding devices...

Things like finding Dutch CM Rigel that first has a normal upgrade and then becomes eligible to refit as a precious AR! The AR change is not visible until after the first upgrade.
Then there are the US DDs that can convert to APDs, but only if you do not upgrade them first. Same with upgrading some of the Lassen C2 cargo ships - it stops any chance of refitting them as AEs.

Take a look at what some of the smaller Dutch vessels will convert to.

Never had an AE before. What month do they activate? Please say June 44, since so many Japanese devices activate then.

As soon as you get them. But underway replenishment does not start until 1 January 1945. Convert every one.
