Best route for Leningrad, '41?

Post by spinecruncher »

Do you recomend through Pskov, driving south a the Pskov; or northm driving up the west portion of the lake and then through Slancy and Narva?

Thank you!

Certainly Pskow is the best quickest route. But as your opponent knows that too he might well make enough preparations to make the route less preferable.

If you can break Pskow and also take another route like between the lakes at the same time it does help to collapse those positions more rapidly. See for example fb.asp?m=4640899 . Otherwise your opponent might be able to patch up things in Pskow to at least delay you another turn. But I would not take another route if it makes Pskow less likely.

Only do not take Pskow if you are really really sure your opponent has built it up too much and left another route too weak.

Send the FBD through Pskov. As to where to attack that all depends on the Soviets, attack where they are weak and pocket or clear anything in the way of the FBDs before they get there.
The lark, signing its chirping hymn,
Soars high above the clouds;
Meanwhile, the nightingale intones
With sweet, mellifluous sounds.
Enough of Stalin, Freedom for the Ukraine !
