I have windows me and 9.0. She has a 550 mgh and dont know graphics card on hers, i have a 866 mgh and a geforce 4 mx 440. I just bought the newest copy of eu2 and Homeworld 2 and no problem with them, they installed fairly quick. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys and good gaming.

On my Celeron WinMe laptop the game installed within a few minutes.

Something therefore seems not too right with your system or the medium. Disable your firewall, AV, all running programs including the net before installing. Try with Dx8.1 first or if you want to remain at 9.0 update that too.

I'd also sweep your system with your virus checker, apply the Me patch, run a defrag and Scandisc before another install attempt. A full reboot of course, wouldn't go astray.

The last time I had such a difficulty was with my old P3 W98 and East Front 2. That install froze like yours and I ended up copying the game to my HD manually. That's another option but I'd check with Matrix first.

Truly sounds like problem with the CD Rom and the CD Player. Some compatibility issue. Could also be a Virus Scanner running in the background.

After 2 hours of install time, and only 80% done--I checked the cd. There was a noticeable half inch "scratch" below the surface. First time I have encountered a defective game cd outta the box--just don't buy enuf games, I guess... Unfortunately, the store was sold out and had to get my money back--will try again later... Hope they didn't have a bad run of cd's... This was purchased from GameStop, in our local mall.

Had a slow load problem as well but what i did to fix it was when you put the cd in close everything out then go to your run and browse to the file that loads the game I dont recall what it was and load the game this way and it loaded just fine for me using the run.
