Some tips for @Alvaro. This plus minefields in Rea Sea and we are quite good. I do not think minefields near Iraq must be placed because of the Anglo-Iraqi war of 1941.
Perhaps some minefield near the southern Persian port must be placed.

RE: Invasion of Red Sea
So, I think the best is to add just one single minefield in the Persian Gulf as shown below. Indeed, Germany will be at war with UK. So protecting Kuwait port is a must.
But, then, if Germany want to unload troops somewhere, Germany has to declare war against either Iraq, either Persia. And, both will turn to the Allies side anyway.

RE: Invasion of Red Sea
I don't think that solves the real objective - stopping the Axis from using the ability to send troops around the Cape is the issue we are trying to stop.
RE: Invasion of Red Sea
Alvaro already said that he can't reprogram the loops. But, we can stop Germany from doing it if there is no incentive to do it.
That is why I suggest to close the Red Sea with minefields:
fb.asp?m=4853675
And only to protect the Kuwait port in the Persian Gulf. If Germany wants to invade Iraq or Persia, UK will have time to bring enough troops and planes from the Red Sea to counter this move.
The problem is to avoid this below move in the screenshot because UK has then no more footprint in the Persian Gulf.

RE: Invasion of Red Sea
Alvaro, looks like nothing was done regarding this topic in the new 1.00.08 Beta 5. The minefield is not a good idea from your point of view?
EDIT: I am speaking of the Red Sea in particular:

Still thinking how I can make the loops non-accessable to Axis by code.

RE: Invasion of Red Sea
It looks like the Pacific supply hexes could be fixed just by making them impossible terrain like Alpine.
It would be nice if German invasions into the Red Sea and Persian gulf could be restricted in some way. You have to consider that in reality the Germans simply couldn't move Landing Ships full of troops around Africa without the British not sinking every one of them. The British controlled South Africa and the Indian Ocean.
Personally I think think the Germans shouldn't be able to use the two transfer hexes at the bottom of the map on the Atlantic side. If they wanted to reach the Persian Gulf they would have to do it through the Red Sea which implies their control of the canal and Mediterranean.

I was able to add specified loop access by alliance without impacting current games. It will be in the new beta and next official.

That is wonderful news Alvaro. Initially, you were saying this was not possible hence my workaround. But if you have this solution, this is perfect. Count of me to test it. [:D]

RE: Invasion of Red Sea
This was my first coding project. I had not programmed in 30 years. I can tell you I learned a hell of a lot. Encapsulation was the largest lesson learned about coding. It takes me 3x as long to fix things with this code set I estimate compared to if I did it right the first time. But I didn't know enough.
I had to transition from 1980s procedural coding in languages like Fortran to Object Oriented with C#.

Wow - I am impressed. You crushed it for your first effort in 30 years.

Encapsulation
Ah encapsulation... But you know you can be a god of encapsulation and not been able to code anything approaching a working game. So congratulations!

Of course. I have a good friend teaching me through C# efficiencies. I teach him poker in exchange.

I went with Visual Basic. Does just about everything C# does but is a little easier transition from Fortran.
I did write a game but it was Civil War and more board game style. In other words no interest from the ten people still playing them. [:)] So its on hold.

I generally assume players won't do cheezy things like this. Pacific resources isn't meant to be invaded. But I needed something there to represent convoys from the Pacific.
Same for the Red Sea.
Some players will always do cheesy things to win games. That's why it's important for the programmer to stop such nonsense with smart programming. Allowing Axis players to easily invade South Africa or India is just plain looney tunes.
