possible patch issue - need clarification

My main screen menu says version 1.00.071 and when I check for updates it says I have the most recent version so it would not update. I have updated with all the beta patches so my main game menu screen (New game etc....) says version 1.00.072 but I have Beta 8U6 installed. I've read that Warplan is on version 1.00.073. I've downloaded that 1.00.073 update, but it won't install because it tells me I have the latest version.
1)I'm just wondering, when you install the beta patches, do they supersede the update versions? That is, do I need to install .073 update?

I just forgot to change the number to v72 on the beta.

If you have 8U6 installed you have the latest version so you are fine

The Matrix installer looks at a different file for the official version.
