Operation Baku

Anybody have any luck getting there?

I launched a major operation by the Italians, sailing through the Black Sea, dropping some alpine corps, and got really lucky and took a port! although, with only the romanian navy in support, i got a transport sunk.

my next wave of reinforcments also lost a transport. with such losses i made a mad dash for Baku and took it!(mostly because the AI was not smart enough to garrison it-any human player would have butchered me).

but it doesn't end there...

i kept trying to bring in forces(an interceptor and small corps were both sunk though-and i eventually ran out of transports) and was able to sink the soviet black sea fleet with the italian fleet. BUT...

my forces in Baku got cut off by the Red Army, and starved out.

I did get turkey. but i really don't think my op would have ever worked vs a human.

is there a better way?
