Town - Grey info bubbles?

Post by Daza99 »

What do these little grey bubbles on a town refer to? I am going to guess Art stands for Artillery? is this telling me there was 35% of Artillery damage on the town? i did use a rocket launcher on the town twice as i have some Rebels there i am trying to eliminate.

AFAIK "art" notes a hex where you'd used any range attack in that turn (including tactical nukes [:D]), so you could expect enemy forces to be weakened here.

Never bothered with numeric value here so dunno what's mean.

The numeric value stands for extra action point cost required to enter the hex. Hexes that were enemy-held at the start of turn cost 10 extra action points, and if the hex was seized as a result of a battle, units that didn't participate will have to wait out the battle before entering the hex, which costs the battle duration's worth of action points.
Not affiliated with Slitherine. They added it to my name when they merged the Slitherine and Matrix account systems.

Thanks for the info. Just to clarify this extra action points the 35 is cost required to enter the hex to engage in the next battle? I had to do numerous attacks because they had more exp and were defending in the town. Also did this 35 points come about because of rocket attacks or that had nothing to with it (as it has the word 'art' in one bubble)?

The number in the round bubble pertains to damage inflicted by explosive shells, whether it be artillery, rockets, or even howitzer tanks.
It makes more sense when there are assets to be damaged there, but I seem to recall seeing that bubble even in hexes where there are none. However, it was always after either an artillery or rocket attack, or a tank equipped with howitzers attack.

The AP cost to enter an enemy controlled hexagon is indicated in a rectangle (as we can see a bit of in your picture in the hex north of Wolfen) and is more or less always 10 in my experience. It even has its own map filter that you can turn on and off. Should it be off, the round explosive damage bubbles should still show up.

Thanks Jdane for your reply.

Does hexes with assets automatically get repaired after damage from such weapons? which i would assume would just request resources to do so?

I don't believe they require materials to be repaired, only workers assigned. Even a maintenance only skeleton crew is enough for the assets to get fully repaired over time.

It might take some time though. Rocket attacks can be quite devastating, especially if repeated.
