Techno-Barbarians (Isaac Arthur video)

I just watched Isaac Arther's video from last week about "Techno-Barbarians", and it's wonderfully applicable to the worlds of Shadow Empire:

Scavenger civilizations maintaining partly understood infrastructure while old knowledge is lost and regained.

I love this guy! I've been downloading his videos and listening to them whenever I walk the dog. I've been starting from the first episode, but I considered skipping ahead just for this when I saw it in my notifications. I guess I really should.

Interesting, I keep thinking of A Canticle for Leibowitz.

"Now a Dark Age seemed to be passing. For twelve centuries, a small flame of knowledge had been kept smoldering in the monasteries; only now were there minds ready to be kindled. Long ago, during the last age of reason, certain proud thinkers had claimed that valid knowledge was indestructible—that ideas were deathless and truth immortal"

You and the rest, you forgot the first rule of the fanatic: When you become obsessed with the enemy, you become the enemy.
