Well, of course nippon is used. I'm talking specifically about nipponese. Like if you put it in a newspaper today, would there be an outcry? But we digress, back to the game.

I wonder if the term "nipponese" would be considered racist to use nowadays. It's simply taking the actual Japanese word for Japan (Nippon, Nihon can also be used) and adding "ese" onto the end of it. In a way, that's more culturally contextual than the Portuguese bastardization of Nippon to Jippon to Japan in the 17th century.

In short, yes.

Well then, nip the Nips now that war is started.

When I was a kid and read extensively on WWII, I was familiar with the term "Nips" for the Japanese. It was confusing to me when one of the Canadian burger restaurant chains called its burgers "Nips", "Big Nips", "Cheese Nips", etc. I was wondering what the connection was between hamburgers and the Japanese? And don't tell me they were both part of the Axis! Why single out Hamburg?

Reminds me of this classic Aus rock song, the nips are getting bigger:

Is it really possible to "digress" in an AAR which went 20 pages before the first turn was run?

Well, Hamburgers can be quite stupid. One of them put a community on what became one of the world's largest open pit mines. Iron ore mine, that is. He even named the town after himself.

One of my uncles (my aunt married him) said that he was a DP. I wondered why he meant "Dumb Polack" but I did not ask him why he admitted that. Now I know what he meant! He was a nice guy. I only met him a couple of times. [:(]

Upcoming leadership changes:

High Priority Changes:
Kimmel (PacFlt), Brooke-Popham (ABDA), Percival (Malaya Army), DeWitt (West Coast), Southern Command will see a switch to free up Brodie Haig, McLeod (Burma Cmd), Broad (Eastern Cmd Calcutta), Heath (III Indian Corp),

High Priority but not sure what the pool looks like:
Blamey (OZ Command) when we get a decent choice.

Lower priority change...

USN Fleet Air West (San Diego). In all truth, probably can live without changing this guy by shuffling groups around.
222 Group RAF Colombo
224 Group RAF Singers -- depends upon game developments
RAAF Sydney -- depends upon available

Most other HQ changes can wait for 2 weeks or longer.

The High Priority changes are some serious PP....but they need to be done. Plus I am not done in China...

I will net over 100 points by early withdaws, so I will need to prioritize who to change first. Malaya originally wasn't on the list, but now with such a heavy focus on Luzon...I feel Singers should be prioritized much higher.

I wanted to get this up for future reference. China starting supply, Dec 7 pre-turn. I will be really moving it to the mountains, and quite frankly, starving some bases. I really want to encourage yellow asterisks, and in some cases red.

Only two of my future supply depots are even on the list.

The real challenge with China is when the fuel runs out...keeping Lanchow road to Chungking, as long as possible is fairly important. Urumchi is tough to draw from for Japan, we shall see if the Chinese can do it better.

BTW, I am using Kulls v1.4 regions which have been updated for all the new bases. Thank you guys for doing the lifting here.

Alessandro did the work[&o], Kull gave approval. [&o] I haven't checked everything for accuracy...just assuming it is. They are all dot bases...I download the text file, renamed it, and copied it into the appropriate tracker folder.

Tokyo Free Press, Dec 8th, 1941
Imperial Naval, Air and Land forces, acting purely in a defensive manner while on multiple peacekeeping missions throughout the Pacific, were attacked by Allied units without any warning. Minor damage to some Imperial forces were encountered while inflicting substantial damage to the aggessors.
A general mobilization has been ordered by the Emperor to rid the region of the Western colonists and secure the resources to their rightful owners.

the problem with a divided KB = puny PH strike... you end sinking 0 ships and just a few obsolete planes

you will have them all repair by February or March
