"Treasury Cashflow" hard to read

Post by HansLemurson »

The Treasury Cashflow Overview screen is hard to read. It doesn't do a good job of segregating Income and Expenses and it's hard to see at a glance where your money is coming from and where it is going.

I'm not 100% sure how to fix it. Maybe some colored text? Use minus signs for things that cost you money?

(Ironically it has actually gotten easier to read now that I've acquired more zones, since the thick stack of numbers creates a more orderly "grid" pattern.)

Just to add to this: there really needs to be a much clearer way to easily see at a glance what my current income/expenses/shortfall is.

At the moment, to find this we have to scroll down, to find it written in a tiny little section in the middle of all this other crap.

Firstly, income, expenses, and profit/loss should be:
- in bold (and possibly larger than the other text)
- clearly displayed on the first page, ideally near the top

The detail can then follow on underneath that - and this should be clearly split up into sections for income, and expenses.

It does say your net income in the "Empire Dashboard", but it provides no context about revenues and expenses. No substitute for a proper budget summary.

I'm not really having trouble with the cashflow screen, but adding some colour to it could be nice.

Not exactly. It says how many credits you have now compared to how many you had at the end of your previous turn. So for example, if you spent a lot of credits on your last turn, the dashboard next turn will tell you that you lost a lot of credits, despite still actually having a positive income besides that.

Agreed. Reported previously. It needs to read like a genuine cash flow statement with proper separation and subtotals over time.
