Post by Frank W. »

Leo,

in H2H there is no 25pdr. gun available for on-board
deploy !

only OB batteries !

25pdr. often were used as direct fire guns and
AT guns. i can not play the brits in the desert without
them :D

Adapt & overcome! :) I just checked June 1942. You can purchase the 6-pounder and replace it with a 25-pound howitzer.
Retreat is NOT an option.

A formation error...if you want 25pdrs, hit the Nation button and burrow some from the Canadians ;)

Yeah don't underestimate 2pdrs, they can do surprisingly well against German offensives (1 crew scored 12 enemy kills in their first engagement and only tanks came up that road). I've found mortars and 2 lbs AT companies to be my most effective AT troops in WaW and H2H in general unless it's a Tiger or a Panther you can usually get by with the 2 pounders, and even then you can get lucky (I usually save something a bit heavier for them, like sneaking a few M4 105's up their butts and letting them know I'm there.
Yes I am insane, I share my mind with a cat.
No I do not want to go to bed with you, so quit asking.
My idea of a relaxing morning is driving over my Fiancée's new boyfriend with an M1A2, but not because I'm jealous (it's because he's an absolute prick)

some more info on british guns:

http://www.btinternet.com/~ian.a.paters ... illery.htm

he 25-pdr was one of the best field guns of it's day, although it did not fire as heavier shell as the German and American 105mm (4.1-in) weapons, it was easier to handle in action and has an excellent range. It was provided with an excellent anti-tank shot, which proved to be of immense use in the Western Desert, when the 2-pdr anti-tank gun was outmatched by the German armour. This was also proved at Villers-Bocage, when 5 RHA, firing over open sights, accounted for a number of the German tanks and other armour destroyed in the battle of the "Brigade Box". Click here to see a detailed picture of the various parts of the gun.
