River Transports

Post by Mark Breed »

How do river transports work? I created a riverine force of gun boats, patrol boats, and monitors, as well as river transports. However, I have been unable to figure out how to transport units. I can't find any load figures associated with the riverine unit.

I have searched the rules and have not been able to locate any instructions as to how to do it.

Any help in understanding it will be most appreciated.

Regards,
Mark

They don't. That concept and functionality does not exist. (and how handy it would be to simulate the first Indochina war)

If you had found something like this in the Manual, would it have been adequate? [I'm adding this to my .txt Manual and wanted to check that it makes sense and is helpful].

River Transport Units - These units do exist but have no actual Transport ability or effect on Transport Capacities.

Oh I so agree with this statement. Having the ability to embark units for river transport, similar to sea or rail, would vastly increase the dimension of this game.

I've tried various workarounds, none with results to my satisfaction.
Grab them by the balls. Their hearts and minds will follow.
