Flanker Leader (Germany) vs vonGarvin (USSR)

Post by vonGarvin »

AAR. Normal settings, etc etc.
Well, this morning we received reports here in Moscow about some air attacks on our airfields in the western districts! For Shame! Nazi Germany has decided to not honour the non-agression pact with agression! In excess of 4000 aircraft are now lying in heaps of twisted metal on their smoking runways.
Well, the rout is on. The panzers have taken TWO Soviet Cities: Lwow and Tarnapol, and they've even renamed Lwow to Lemskau! Can you believe it! Several armies are surrounded, and many others in danger of being surrounded. So, the USSR has decided already to fall back a bit in hopes of at least getting SOME time in which to dig in. Here's the cas list following the complete turn one:

Hope the difference isn't to my detriment

Hey there.
Game continues. So, Flanker Leader: the big difference in what was sent back: am I that horrible? :( Don't worry, I have thick skin, and this is, concurrent with the game I am playing TDV, the first vs. a HUMAN I've played WIR, so I expect my @$$ to be handed to me.!!!! ;) Anyway, after my 29 Jun 41 phase, the casualties are as follows:
Germany
Squads: 933
AFVs: 206
Guns: 46
Aircraft: 205
USSR
Squads: 11227 (!)
AFVs: 3427
Guns: 3923
Aircraft: 5187
Hope I can survive the summer/autumn in order to lash back BIG TIME vs the invaders! Nasty nazis!!!

Talk to you all later
David

The only diff is you pretty much pulled back, and K62 didn't - in your game I can get ahead of myself easier, and K62 is proficient at leaving a big minefield of units behind for me to clean up to keep them off my rails. You can compare in future posts. Anyhow, off to turn 3 for you! I'll put on my first post when i'm done.

The following maps will depict the German position before they start the turn, and then one after combat. I can't find any way to get screenshots directly from WiR so I have to use the WiR Assistant. Works great, but it's much more difficult to see Sov units since on this map they only show Sov units ADJACENT to German units. Plus any weather change is not depicted - it's always the same summer green! But, better than nothing!

It was late, and I just played 15 hours of WIR straight! Here's the next turn, then.

Map Removal

I had to erase the maps because Matrix only gives 500Kb of upload and each map is 70Kb, so I will concentrate on posting my K62 for now. Mabe some other time!
