National Morale

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

National Morale

Post by David Hansen »

What impacts does a country's NM% have during a campaign?

A country will surrender when NM%=0...but are there any "benefits" to being above 100%?..any "penalties" for being below 100%?

If National Morale < 40% then Unit Morale is multiplied by 0.85.
If National Morale < 75% then Unit Morale is multiplied by 0.90.
If National Morale < 95% then Unit Morale is multiplied by 0.95.
If National Morale > 110% then Unit Morale is multiplied by 1.10[;)]

Thanks. I'll have to look for it next time I fire up the game. I don't recall that display.

Make sure you have the box for it ticked in advanced settings or it doesn't show.

I have a bit of an oddball question. I'm going to be firing up a campaign against the Axis AI soon but I don't want the AI morale to play too much of a role. In other words, I don't want the Germans surrendering on me until Soviet troops are dancing in the rubble of Berlin.
I've already tweaked a couple things in the editor but not sure what to do for AI morale. Should I just massively increase the starting morale for the Axis?

thanks!

That is one option, but it will make AI units fight better too (which might be desired).

A second option would be to add a repeating National Morale script to provide the AI with a boost per turn (copy a German NM script and amend it, just ask if you need help).

Another option would be to open the campaign in the Editor that you want to play, do File -> Save As and give it a new name.

Then go to Campaign -> Edit Campaign Data -> Advanced you could change the Victory Basis from Capitals to Objectives.

However, what this means is that countries will not surrender when their capitals fall, but on the other hand it does mean that Germany won't surrender until you achieve the Victory Conditions.
