Influence factions within your own government?

Post by Philo32b »

Is there a way to support or suppress one of the political factions that are in your empire? Or influence them in any way? The factions within your own government I am talking about, not foreign governments.

I believe you do this through adjusting your ethical profile, hiring or firing cabinet members from certain factions, and accepting or refusing a Faction's requests.

However I don't think there's any way to make them really go away or prevent new recruits from joining the faction that matches their ideals most closely.

There's a strategem that allows you to spend money to support one of your factions, from the 1st tier Commerce regime feat if I remember correctly. You can also retire or assassinate their characters.
Not affiliated with Slitherine. They added it to my name when they merged the Slitherine and Matrix account systems.

Thank you for your responses. I was able to get rid of the annoying internal faction whose ideals went against my government by firing the two members and then getting them to retire with stratagem cards. I had previously used the stratagem card that supports the factions that I wanted to promote, but each of those cards cost 1,000 and didn't seem to do very much in the elections. Just getting rid of members seems more effective and cheaper.
