Phase 3 of the Pacific Gambit is on hold, due to heavy IJN surface fleets present, while Phase 4 is a go but on a smaller scale...

There is no excuse for Japan's play at Tarakan.

Well, let us see what the British light cruisers can accomplish today...at Tarakan! Not to mention 10 subs with bad torpedoes.

Phase four invasion is a go, landing next turn...

Indomitable and Yorktown are here...

Boise is being repaired at Portland...system damage and engine damage from two 2 day flank runs to avoid the IJN.

Marblehead and company are bombarding Miri...

And other assorted sundry attacks.

But during a rain storm in the morning hours, the British show up for a fight!

The American sailors are amazed by the show the Dragon and Durban put on...they try to keep up.

DDs John D Edwards and Piet Hein should replenish at sea and then run away full speed

Durban and Java should be left to their fate, no point in wasting DDs on them

Lousy IJN find a flaw in our search patterns and avoid the aerial watchers....but now the Canberra must exact some revenge!

960 AV at Palembang...

A very good bombardment, since I failed to put a floatplane on recon...just high DL from days and days of aerial bombing and recon.

I see them coming.

Marcus got heavily shelled by Battleships and Cruisers. I guess they need to go back to Marianas to be rearmed. That leaves the KB, which should have formed up these two days to watch over the Wake Invasion. No way am I sending in Warspite and company until I get better intel.

"Do not unload" for Shikuka? I hope that gets changed!

If your crippled ships go to Samarinda on Coastal routing, it is shorter and they can dewater some there. Or even right next door to Tarakan, disband and dewater. If unseen, they would get at least two days of dewatering which could help a lot depending upon their minor flooding amount. Even then, a port strike may not target two ships and his combat vessels may be low on ammo plus have other jobs available. Then any specific attack on them takes two days away from other specific targets.

I mean, two days of dewaterng for the Java might make a world of difference on her speed and the Durban could then stay another day. That would lower the risk of being spotted as well as tie down any SC TFs hanging around for the cripples.

It looks like your intentional search gap near Rabaul might work to your advance, enticing an enemy task force in for a but where is the KB?
