Adjusting Taxes

Where can you adjust tax rates? I cannot find the mechanism anywhere.

They will appear in the Nation tab of stratagems.

If you don't seem to be receiving any cards, be sure you have an active Interior Council with some bp budgeted towards taxation.

Thanks. Sections 4.3.7 and 5.3.14 discuss taxation without ever specifically mentioning the actual mechanisms in what I consider a clear manner. All that is said is : "Rate can be set using Stratagems of the Interior Council." I consider that to be lacking in definitive completeness. The bare truth is that taxes can only be changed by using cards generated by the various councils. There are no sliders, buttons or other inputs.

Is it possible to find out what the tax rate is even if you can’t change it?

At the beginning of the game I am getting 64 IP points as a Service Tax. Will this continue to be supplied throughout the game or will it dry up after I’ve built some factories.

Where do these IPs come from? Im tech 3 but there are no private factories churning out IPs so where are they from?

EDIT: As usual, it is right in front of me under the section Taxation in the manual.

Yes. There is a report under the Reports tab that has the different tax rates. It is NOT easy to find. There is a LOT of information in this game and much of it is available but little of it is easy to find. Also, none of it is "Cross-indexed" with hyperlinks to other reports or management screens so that you can move from one bit of info to another related bit. Unit structure and troop replacement and upgrades are an absolute mess. I keep running into roadblocks with no explanation as to why I cannot do something. I imagine Vic will improve things as time goes on. Right now, the edifice he has built is so big he simply has not had time to smooth things out. Another problem is that, as with any complex system, if you know how to do a thing then it is obvious. If you don't, then it is darn near impossible to figure out how.

Taxes - Under Reports (top bar) - go to "Overviews", then to "Treasury cashflow overview".

I concur with 'solops' on the plethora of info available in this game.
I also, concur, on the initial difficulty of acquiring all this info.
I will add; once one does learn the, fairly simple, mechanics of navigating this game...it becomes very easy to do so.
You are, generally, just a couple of clicks away to get what you need per information.
Reading the manual is also recommended. [:)]
