[Answered] Aegean in flames, ferry ready times

Post by Swant »

It takes 6 hours to arm the Mirages with ferry loadout, but it looks like it is supposed to take 30min.

Is there a save that we can investigate?

Ok and I will ad two more questions.
Why does some Aircraft have quick turnaround and some doesn't even though it's the same type with the same loadout?
And how come I can't select quick turnaround with a light loadout of Amraams, but I can with medium and heavy?

For the first question; changing a loadout does not reset the 'to-ready' time. The rest of the aircraft in the squadron look like they have an Exocet loadout with a ready time of 6 hrs, changing one of them to ferry doesn't shorten the time to ready but does change the loadout.

There's some great info on turnaround times here: https://www.warfaresims.com/?page_id=29 ... d=2920#700

I had a look at your save file and there is indeed something odd about the quick turnaround option for those aircraft.

I've contacted the author to look into it a little deeper before we make any changes, but in the short term you can reset the loadouts by using the scenario editor to make them 'ready immediately' and the quick-turnaround options return.

Unfortunatley I'm still not sure which AMRAAM loadouts you're talking about. Can you be more specific?

Ok thanks.
So for example the f 16 52+ has three AMRAAM loadouts: AMRAAM heavy 402, AMRAAM light 202, AMRAAM medium 400.
I can enable quick turnaround for heavy 402 and medium 400. But I can't for light 202

The author has been back to me and it seems like this is by design, he said he'll post here later to outline the reasoning [:)]

Hello Swant

For specific aircraft we have enabled the Quick Turnaround
The reason for that is to realistically simulate the actual QRA forces that could participate in the first hours of the conflict

You wouldnt want all your aircraft (or opponent's aircraft) to be able to deplete their sorties in just a few hours but longer in order to cover the entire time period

Thus conserving the aircraft longer

Hello!
Thanks for the answer, and the great scenario

Im still a little confused by this:

You wouldnt want all your aircraft (or opponent's aircraft) to be able to deplete their sorties in just a few hours but longer in order to cover the entire time period

Im assuming you are talking about the game and not real life. How does quick turnaround deplete their sorties? As I understand it, it is not really a downside to quick turnaround, the stand down time is only 3 hours, the same as if you diddn't have quick turnaround?

In reality your ground personnel would be depleted if all your airforce do a quick turnaround

That is why we have kept it at QRA forces only and not the whole fleet
