Minor Issues with 1.00.80

Post by Harrybanana »

The game notes for the 1939 Scenario still indicate that Italy can DOW the Allies if the French don't have a unit in Algiers and that Yugoslavia will join the Axis if Greece is conquered prior to March 1941.

When clicking on the production icon (the factory symbol) for minor countries it indicates that they have 0 supply trucks even when they do have some. This isn't a serious issue as when you click on a minor's unit the correct number of supply trucks are available. This may just be a problem with playing a game in 1.00.80 that was started with 1.00.07.3.

I'm one of Harrybanan's opponents. If you notice any of those issues in our game, send me a message ingame (btw, I´m upgraded to 1.00.80)

Looking at the notes they are right. Which version are you loading Matrix or Steam?

Supply trucks from minors go to their major controller. They can use the major power's trucks.

This was changed.

Minors only use their own oilers and air transports now.

I am using the Steam Version of 1.00.08. But even in a hot seat game the Game Notes are wrong.

Okay so I was able to manually update my Matrix version of the game and the Game Notes are correct. So perhaps it is only the Steam version that has incorrect Game Notes.

But then when I loaded up my Steam version of the game, to my surprise I discovered that the Game Notes had been corrected for it as well. So obviously the Matrix Version and the Steam version share some files including the Game Notes. I am kind of glad that I took the screenshots shown above of my Steam version of the game prior to my updating my Matrix version or I wouldn't even believe myself that they were wrong.

The scenario files are the same between the two. They are read from a text file.

That is odd. So it is working right?

Yes. After I manually updated my Matrix version of the game the Game Notes were correct for both the Matrix version and the Steam versions of the game.

The steam version should autooverride all the files.

Two more things I have noticed with 1.00.80 that may (or may not) be bugs:

1. The Winter iron ore route (from Sweden to Germany) has been moved. Instead of hugging the Norwegian coast all the way south it now goes from Narvik to the port South of Narvik (I forget the name), then goes by rail to Oslo, before again going by sea to Germany. Is this WAD?

2. French partisan units have appeared. Is this WAD?

Good question, I have seen this too.

It is not. I made some changes and tested this it shouldn't pass through. I'll test it again. Due to the game engine change I am trying to get a patch up for next week 1.00.081 to address the graphical issues Unity 2019 had.

In general I shouldn't have updated but I don't know how long Unity will support the 2017 engine since there were big changes to it the next year. I wanted to catch up. It was a headache for me as they changes somethings that didn't make sense to me. But we all do what we can.

Thanks for letting me know the Norway thing.

I am considering adding an Axis naval loop if you control Narvik for a little more enticement to take it. Ideas are welcome.

Post a screen shot of when it happens so I can see the weather. I have been testing it and I don't see it going the wrong way. Must be some rare combo

Believe this was a deliberate change so it wasn't so easy to kill German merchants. Still isn't difficult you just have a shorter section of water root to camp on. But it does allow the Axis player to deploy air and sea power to protect it if they want to commit the resources.

I haven't been able to find an article online that confirms whether this combined sea and rail route was used. But there were a number of mentions of how well protected most of the coastal route was due to the inland channels along Norway's coast. They just referred to it as the "Norway Channel" extending from North Cove to Stavargo.

Thank you Alvaro. But what about the appearance of French partisan units. Is that working as designed?

I would like to confirm this point also. Is it WAD to use the French partisan units?
