Weird supply in the Med

Post by jesperpehrson »

The allies have cut Axis convoys in the western Med and Italian Coast.
The Axis still have a cp in the Eastern Med and Greece is conquered.

For some reason we do not understand there are units along the coast that are out of supply.
Malta, Rhodes, Cyprus, Bardia and the units on the Suez Canal are all out of supply.
The rest are in supply.
The only factor that ties the in supply units are that they can trace to a minor country capital or HQ.
What are we missing? Why are these unit out of supply?

Looks like some kind of 'update' bug. If you close MWIF, and load a save to this step, are the units still OOS?

I just had the same thing.

only different is that ut was a mixed german/Italian force. the germens were OOS and the Italians not.

they were in morocco, a Italien conqured minor.

after the landcombat the supply updated, and was then correct.

looks like there something wrong with supply after naval combat/ in minors

My opponent and I were thinking it could have to do with not having an HQ in Greece. All the others could draw to a secondary supply (capital in Syria or Libya or HQ).

Greece is conquered, and then Athens should be a secondary supply source to all those Italian, and German, units OOS. Hence all the units should be in supply, unless Athens itself is OOS for some reason I can not see. Do you have a complete raillink to Athens from both Italy and Germany?

Have you tried reloading a save?

Edit: Athens, provided it has a raillink, should provide supply to all coastal hexes in the East Med.

There is always a trade-off between keeping the supply status of all units up-to-date versus spending CPU time recalculating supply.

Hence, this 'bug' has its companion 'bug' that recalculating supply takes too long.

If the supply status is egregiously wrong (out of date), saving and restoring the game forces it to be recalculated.

Sometimes simply picking up an HQ will have the same effect.

A gamesave is needed to take a better look at things. Simply zip the save gamefile and upload it into the forums (using the reply button).
