Current search operations make this situation very comparable to the Battle between Kormoran and HMAS Sydney .
After a few days, Axis crew has been found on some life rafts drifting around the forum, while the Allies are missing without a trace. It is still not fully established what actually happened and certainly nobody saw this disaster coming.

Which reminds me: Respect your AMC. They get so much undeserved hate/disrespect in this forum :(

I dunno - I never owned an AMC but I did drive someone's Studebaker once!

I always liked the Gremlin, and the GM Pacer too.

Never owned one, had a Lesabre convertible though.[:)]

Family owned a Hudson, it had more armor than a AMC

Grandpa had a 1956 Dodge Pickup truck. That was solid, not weak sheet steel.

I had an AMC Rebel, the old joke is AMC stood for Almost Made Correctly.

My sister had an AMC Gremlin. The front grill was an inferior plastic that cracked during the first winter.
