Question about Northern Fury scenario #1 - "H-Hour":

Been playing CMO since the beginning of CMANO days and I never tried the Northern Fury series. Should have asked that girl out on a date years ago. Not too late though, she's still available.

Anyway, just loaded the scenario and am taking my time looking around and seeing where everything is located. In the side briefing for this scenario it mentions "331 Sqn is forward deployed, its been reinforced by 4 'B' model F-16s put together from the training wing"...

I have looked everywhere, haven't found those 4 F-16B's. If they are going to pop via lua or some other event, go ahead and just give me the hint and I'll shut up about it...

Well spotted! I just looked and they're not there. I will fix but IIRC the 4x F-16Bs were supposed to be at Andoya (there is ammo for them there as well)

The F-16As from 331 are at Banak, Tromso, Bardufoss, Evenes

This scenario was created before Lua was available and well before I was able to use it.

Again, I can't believe I've been playing Command for so long and never dug into the community scenario pack until now. Definitely missed the boat in that regard. Same thing with your Northern Fury book which I just put on my Kindle.

Some of my most memorable gaming was when I played pen-and-paper Harpoon with a group of friends back circa 1990-ish. I usually played DM and the other guys teamed up on sides. There was a scenario book for Harpoon called Battles of the Third World War that came out late 80's and in it were several scenarios around Norway/Kola Peninsula and I'm wondering if you drew any inspiration from that. We used to hang huge sheets of butcher paper on the walls and draw out the maps and operations on the paper. One wall had scaled up operational level stuff and another wall had the scaled down engagement level area. What a blast.

Now with Northern Fury I can play this stuff once more with Command.

EDIT: Yeah, I wasn't sure if I should create a thread or post in here to try to get the best response.

Heads up everyone. The next version of the CSP is almost ready for release. Been waiting for the official patch to drop since all the CSP scenarios have been updated to the latest DB's.

If you have subscribed on Steam to any of the Baloogan uploaded scenarios, please make sure unsubscribe from them. I have uploaded the latest scenarios to Steam and will be updating the CSP Steam Collection later today but unless you manually unsubscribe from Baloogans then you will have double scenarios.

Since the No 42, I don't found the Excel file with the list of the scenarios and the new scenarios for the package 42 and 43.
Is it normal ?

Documents sub-folder in the CSP folder.

If your using the Steam version, it won't be there and you'll have to get the standalone version. Its a Steam thing, nothing I can do. All the extra documents are excluded from there since there isn't a way at the moment to upload them.

Scenarios in latest Steam release of CSP using old CWDB database

Hi I've noticed that a number of CWDB scenarios in the latest Kushan steam CSP are using the CWDB v466 instead of the v478 version. In some cases the database is older than that used in the older Baloogan CSP so it looks like the scenario has been downgraded rather than been updated as implied by the description.

One example is Operation Slam Grey (Kushan v466, Baloogan v476)

Update: I've checked the standalone downloads and the database downgrade seems to occur between v41 and v42. Some .ini files also seem to have been blanked e.g. Caribbean Task Force Ruby in v41 has a populated one, but this is a blank file in v42/43

I noticed this due to seeing some apparent bugs with torpedo stats (incorrect launch altitudes) that have been fixed as of v478

I was wondering if this issue is linked to this one - [Fixed] Scenario migration defaults to out of date DB3K version (can't post a hyperlink, sorry!)

Manual updating works fine, but I wanted to check if the use of the older database was intentional for some reason.

I think the issue was with the batch update ini files. A number of scenarios have apostrophes in the names. I just ran it again with those removed and it worked fine.

I'll have it fixed for the next release of the CSP but don't expect an update to the Steam version. Unfortunately, due to the amount of scenarios on Steam the UI currently doesn't list all of the scenarios that are on there. It wasn't designed for one user to have 500+ scenarios uploaded. Frankly if I could take them all down and have Steam users use the normal version of the CSP it would be a lot less of a headache.

Forgot to say thank you for pointing out this out. I should have caught it. Guess the scenarios I randomly checked where ones that didn't have this issue.

I also noticed the other day that the Land WCS / BVR logic didn't get fixed. This ones all on me. Apache fixed it for me but I had some issues with the scenarios files so I reverted back to an older version of the scenarios. Wanted to have the next version out right after the patch came out and didn't even think about it. I'll get it fixed for the next version.
