Sumatra. Burma: The IJN carrier TF that bombarded Mergui will have escort vessels that can reach Mergui or Trinkiat or Sabang during the night so I sent the transports at Mergui North and send the RN/Dutch cruiser force to Mergui and wait a day at Sabang.

Indeed, a force of 2 CA's attacks Trinkiat, sinking 5 RN MGB's, but the transport there are safe. The airbase is bombarded and suffers moderate damage.

The IJN cruisers begin to retire down the West coast of Sumatra but run into the RN escort force for the trannies. Fortunately, it is a daytime battle so we don't get Rong Ranced. Looks like we win this and the trannies are safe. Annoyingly, the dive bombers at Sinabang don't attack the IJN cruisers not 40 miles away. I think it was an air search problem. Too bad.
