Revising EnglishGameText.xml?

Post by 76mm »

In this thread (https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4722429) @Lobster mentioned that we can change menus and other game text by revising the EnglishGameText.xml file.

I've made some changes to that file but can't get them to show up in the game...tried putting the file in the root TOAW directory and in the graphics override directory, but neither works...

Any suggestions?

Someone sent me an e-mail with how to do this, so I thought I'd post it here: change the name of EnglishGameText.xml to xGameText.xml (with x being the name of your scenario) and drop it into the scenario's folder under the graphics override directory. In case anyone is wondering what this is useful for, you can change terrain names, change menu text, etc.

@sPzAbt653 -- this feature may be something to add to the editor manual.

Cheers
