the mother of all bugs !

Post by deVada »

Hi!

Sunk ships (and proably unproduced yet) are stored in Mystic Port at hex 0,0.
There is a possibility to have them reborn.
Anyone found that before or it is my discovery ?

I have transfered some of them into a task force, then I stored them at port. Anyway has anyone got a clue (see picture below) will it stop my Japanese carrier production ?

Those ships haven't got class so maybe not, but why have they carrier icon ?

Help!

I must admit also, that all those normal ships in that port were sunk already by Graham. Using "magic" I got them back.
I had also Hornet and 4 rusty allied battleships in the same port but they have disappeared after a week.
Pity. I was curious what will happen if I would create a TF of them and send them against allies (the TF was Japanese, but the ships had allied original nationality).
Next turn will see also an attempt to use those weird carriers in combat. They should be easy to sink, because of zero armor, durability etc ... No air groups as well - (the second thing that makes me safer about my production).

The battle gets fierce. We are in september of 1942, allies have attacked through Solomons so every ships is needed. Final carrier battle must occur soon. :)

Hmm.... that icon looks a little bit like the "Lexington" class to me. Maybe that's why they have no air groups? Also, do they get fuel when you put them into TF'S.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

is that: Hornet has been reborn on Allied side!

It has no planes as reported, but I do not know at the moment has he squadrons with 0 aircraft or it thasn't them at all.

I suppose that those 4 old allied battleships would need a second sinking.
(but we'll agree not to use those ships)

Regarding to mystic carriers - I have created a task force of them (they seem to be of SS class !! sic !! ) but no fuel, no planes, no ammo, no speed ... nothing at all. A flying Dutch actually.
I have sent them to Vizatpam. It may be interesting to see Devastators trying to sink a ship made of fog ...

ghost ships have been sunk

Post by deVada »

They were in one TF bound for Vizatpam ... one bomb hit was able to sink it ... They had no class at all (but Essex icon + SS status while snooping a TF). After sinking all of them, no clue about that in sunk ships display. Good.

For the first time in the history of naval warfare someone managed to sink a ghost ship with conventional bombs. :D

The bug seems to be occuring while replenishing task forces located in enemy air control zones, but the mysterious port cannot be a HQ main base (what could allow to use it more widely). Good again.

Greetings to all beta testers !
