1. Bitter fighting (continues).
2. No movement on the main front but axis forces are trying to flank from the south.

1. Bitter fighting continues here too.
2. Axis forces are tying to flank from both the north and the south, which more progress in the south.
3. However, Germany armor is the south has been significantly depleted and is vulnerable.
4. But fight and push they must, no matter the cost. That's the order!
5. Almost forgot, the Soviets pull back from Kalinin last (allied) turn and was captured by the Germans this turn.

1. Stalingrad is captured.
2. Axis forces attempt to close the pincers around the surviving forces in the hopes of encircling and then eventually destroying them.
3. The axis forces in the Caucuses, which are mostly Italian, can't get any favorable odds and this are ordered to hold on their current positions.

2. Japan also builds a corps (no frills).

1. A CW corps was destroyed as the Japanese push into Burma.
2. One objective either for this Army Group and/or the one operating in Southern China is to cut the Burma road.
3. However the main objective is the capture of Burma and eastern India.

1. The Japanese bomb and shell Midway.
2. This along with the IJN forces here are a diversion to draw the attention of the allies here and, hopefully, dilute their response to their defense elsewhere when Japan is pushing.
