Units stats in the combat window
How can I see units stats (readiness, attck, def, morale, XP , soft attack, etc.) before to add the unit to joint the combat ? How do I select the units I want to add if I don't see its stats ?
It seems it's not possible. Or am I missing something ?
Thanks

RE: Units stats in the combat window
Well, I went through the Das Tactics combat tutorial and it brings some good insights but I still would like to see my units details before to launch them to the combat. Like unit composition, subunits, TOE, details stats, whatever info is available when in map mode.
Hope it will be added in a future patch ...

If you click on a unit before attacking you get a detailed screen of that unit.

RE: Units stats in the combat window
Yes but it has to be before attacking. Once you launch an attack there's no way to select which units will attack based on their own stats. When attacking from hexes with multiple units, this is an issue. You simply have no way of deciding which unit should join the fight, unless exiting the combat window and losing the already selected units... The decision has to be made prior the attack and outside the combat window. This , IMO is a major flaw.

All one can do, at present, is enter the units in the order that generates the best 'Offensive Mod' numbers.
Not sure of anything else one can do...or even if it is necessary.

I'm sure that VIC will fix this in the future. It can't stay as is...
One easy way would be to allow a mouse right-click on the unit in the combat window to bring the screen pointed by eddieballgame.
Better systems could be envisaged ...

Sorry, but so much of what you've written here is wrong (which is not entirely your fault)

1 - Readiness
2 - Morale
3 - Experience
4 - Supplies
Click on each for more details.

1. You can click on units in the Eligible Forces part to add units to the attack.
2. You can click on units in the Attacking Forces part to remove them from the attack.
3. You can click on units in the hex view to add or remove units from the attack.

4 - Supplies

The order of adding units to the attack has no actual effect on the battle.eddieballgame:

"The order of adding units to the attack has no actual effect on the battle".
It does affect 'Offensive Mod' numbers which I would think has an impact on the battle results.
It certainly can adjust the 'Odds'.

RE: Units stats in the combat window
That is only an artifact of the way the odds are calculated (single simulated combat round).

Maybe I misunderstood you.
There is one more thing you can look at:

5 is the background color in the lower third of the icon that shows which OHQ the unit belongs to.

RE: Units stats in the combat window
Is the complaint that you can't see these stats from WITHIN the combat window before you launch the attack?
If so, I'd argue you don't need to. Some of the critical stats are available on the unit counter pictures. It's also quite easy to exit the combat window to manually check the unit stats on the UI bar as you would normally.

Yes.
-What unit is it ? Are they wearing these new fancy suits ? -Are they equiped with these brand new MGs?
-Are they rookies?
-Soft attack value?
-What are the subunits?
-entrenchment
-HQ bonus
and so on ...
As pointed out by DTurtle I can just see the 4 basic information figuring graphically on the counter but not the tons of other stats attached to the unit.
I'm surprised that not more people are complaining about it because if you can't access the units detailed stats at the time you need them , ie when sending troops to combat, what are they for ?
I don't think it's a big problem that cannot be overcome in terms of programing. As I said, a quick fix could be a right click bringing detailed stats summary. It's cosmetic, it's about information accessibility. No big deal for a maester like VIC to fix.
And I'm confident this will be fixed sooner or later. It can't stay as is
If you exit the combat screen to check individual units you will lose the already selected units. You can't do this for a large battle involving dozens of units that it took time to select. You would had to redo it each time. You need an elephant memory. If so, I'd argue you don't need to. Some of the critical stats are available on the unit counter pictures. It's also quite easy to exit the combat window to manually check the unit stats on the UI bar as you would normally.

RE: Units stats in the combat window
I see your point. I think that there'd have to be a way of presenting the information that doesn't already clutter up the screen. Tool-tips can be a mixed blessing in that regard, but that might be the best option for what you're after, failing a complete redesign of the combat initiation screen. I'd probably prefer the latter, and have the info in a separate part of the UI rather than tooltips jumping around all over the place.
