AA upgrade

Question concerning AA upgrades. Upgrading city, port, mine etc. by 1 AA level gives 0,5 point of defense bonus - not to mistake with defensive value. So I understand a unit placed in this hex receives this bonus, like e.g. 1,5.

My question is - does this 0,5 point matter? Or is it rounded down in calculations? Because if it is so, only level 2 AA upgrade would be beneficial, giving a whole point.

Update: Questions also stands for Naval upgrade for Carriers (lvl 1) or GAW (lvl 1) for Medium Bombers. [:)]

Hi Marcinos1985,

The value when entered into the formula is not rounded, e.g. it applies let's say the 1.5 into the losses formula, but the final answer is rounded. This naturally just means that a unit loses potentially a whole number like 1 strength point, and not 0.5 of a strength point etc.

Same for your follow up questions when it comes to calculating combat losses, only the final result is rounded.

For a parameter which can only be expressed in integers in the game I believe it will be rounded down-most notably de-entrenchment tech bonuses.
