I got into Shadow Empire recently because everyone kept recommending it to me and with the steam release (today) on December 3rd it seemed the right time to pick it up.
I finally managed to distil what is important to get established from everything else you can do. By no means is this a guide to minmaxing, it's a guide about doing the absolute minimum to actually secure yourself at the start and build up your military. To actually just sit down and play a game without it falling apart early.
It's a great game and I really got into it, but getting started can be very tricky. Ironically, leaving things alone may actually save you a lot of pain in the long run.
I hope I will have time to do a full campaign at some point, but for now I just wanted to get this out there so people can get a headstart. I hope it helps someone

P.S. Yep, 35 minutes to explain the absolute minimum needed to survive the first 10-15 turns. Shadow Empire definitely that kind of game
