Tooltip delay setting?

World in Flames is the computer version of Australian Design Group classic board game. World In Flames is a highly detailed game covering the both Europe and Pacific Theaters of Operations during World War II. If you want grand strategy this game is for you.

Tooltip delay setting?

Post by LarryP »

Is there a setting or config file that I can make the tooltips stay up long enough to read?

I guess it can't be done. It's not in the settings, and I see no options.txt or similar, so I guess I will just keep on repositioning my cursor over the long tooltips and read them over and over. Some are quite long and my brain needs time to process the info. Would be nice if like in TOAOW-4 I could adjust the delay. Oh well...

Where are these tooltips of which you speak? If they are on some of the forms, they all have a help button, and the main help has a page or two explaining keyboard shortcuts.

But to be honest I have not noticed what you are referring to. Perhaps post a screen shot with the cursor in a place that produces this annoyance? (No, I don't expect the screen shot to show any tooltip info.)

I started WiF again, after several years, just this week. When I first start the game, tooltips pop up all over. Some are quite long. I figured that there might be tooltips throughout the game, so I posted this thread. They show for a few seconds then disappear. Most games have a tooltip delay, War In The East, War In The West, etc., so I thought WiF had that setting too. Apparently not. Just disregard this post then.

However... I AM having trouble with the dialog boxes jumping around with every phase change. I have two monitors and have saved the layout, but each phase, dialog boxes go under the map etc..
