Can anyone please tell me the steps I need to stop the Canadian resource going to China?
Last turn I had a Burmese oil going to Chinese production to satisfy a trade agreement.
This turn the program has decided that the resource is far better coming from Canada and thus destroying my convoys.
I have tried everything I can, every combination I can to get the program to accept this is not a sensible thing to do and that the Burmese oil should be used.
I even managed to get rid of this at one point.... only for the program to decide that it would reinstall this resource and this route.
Thank-you!

Go to the summary page of the CW production planning form.
Select the resource you want to trade to China. Empty all default and override settings and press the recompute button. Also: make sure that convoys you need to use to trade that resource are not being used by any other default or override setting of other resources.
Again select this resource in the "location" column. Press the "trade" button under "Rail/ship". A message should appear that you need to select the country that you want to trade to resource to.
To do so: click on the first empty cell at the "default" column. Select China (of course). Press the recompute button.
Switch the major power to China. Put the traded resource into the factory you want to use it (or save it). Press the recompute button again.
Now, the right resource should have arrived in China.
Generally speaking when allocating production planning: use as less defaults and overrides as you can. I only use those to save oil, or make sure the right resources are send in trade (or build points, of course).
wait 5 more years to get a production planning that work
I have tried endlessly to make CW have full production. but for some reason, no matter what I do all ressources have to move the longest way.
for some reason ressources have to go though the same sea area 2 or 3 times before they reach UK. (maybe a route from canada, south of Afica, and then to UK)
in most game, I just place 20 convoys in all nessesary sea areas. then UK can get 90% resources
in a trial I made a CW convoy route all the way around the world. 20 convoy in all hexes, and from what I could see, an austalian ressource went twice around the earth before ending in UK. you can recompute or change anything, but then the automation just F.... things up. and you cant turn the automation off...
would be nice if you could decide that a ressource have to go from A to B, in the shortest line, to a specific facrory. anf then the automation would let you do it. but everytime it just change your hard work. dont understand why we have to fight the game
Easiest fix is to use the Canadian oil to reorg so it gets used up. The alternative is do do final production during the USSR breakdowns which which allows lent resources to still be directed where you want.
It is annoying that your settings are changed on every reload. If you have set your own resource paths than these should start locked in.
I find it strange that you can't get the CW to be able to get full production (if you've got the convoys in place, that is). I'm always able to get the CW at full production in that case.
Let the computer calculate first, than allocate the oil points you want to save (and where). After that there might be the odd resource you need to rout through different sea zones (especially the British and Dutch ones coming out of South America tend to go through the wrong sea area's.
The trick is to have as few default and override setting as possible. I haven't got a lot of problems with production at all anymore...

No I still get the same Canada to China horsepoo. Ridiculous. I'll just carry on as is - this is supposed to be fun but its just sending my blood pressure through the roof.
But thanks all for your responses.

I noticed, that at times, you need to go to china (from CW), and then go to the resource you want to stop going to China and clear its orders. Until it is cleared it blocks the new resource from being traded.

Tried that - can't seem to clear the orders from China.
It may be something simple that I am not doing but I've spent too long wasting time on this. I'll play on with the CW convoys mucked up as soon as I know how to fix the German/Italian resources.

Not sure it needs a save game as I do the EoT in one hit. I just need to know how you got rid of the German resources to Italy and then I can do the EoT in one go.
