Some questions about units

Post by dycu »

Hi, I have some questions regarding units:

1. What does setting unit to G (0 key shortcut)?

2. When it's better to raise an army with OHQ and when independent but bigger regiments?

1. You can cycle through unmoved units. 8 & 9 keys I think? I never used it myself.
G stands for Guard mode and takes them out of that particular rotation.

2. Formations with OHQ perform a lot better in overall combat. They are just stacking so many bonuses. But if you need large numbers of units to block a large front, few things beat just spamming a bunch of 500 man Independant MG's

Note that you can recycle the troops of Independant units for Formations:
- disband independant
- wait for troops to reach SHQ
- raise formation with SHQ troops
It looses you the unit feats, but otherwise works nicely

G stands for Guard mode and takes them out of that particular rotation.

To make this complete: the Q key removes all Guard stances.

When starting to use the 8 key in a turn, I usually start with Q, that releases all guards, and then use 0 on the units that are in the right place and move the other '8' units until everything has used all action points or is in its place under a G.
