Cant start Game

Hello

I just bought the Game, but I cant start it. I downloaded it from the matrix website. I read somwehere that I should delete the Ini-files at /documents/my Games/Strategic Comand WWI. However, that didnt help.
I updated the game to 1.3, i can open the launcher. but when I when I press start nothing happens, maybe for 0.1 sec a windwow pops up but closes immidiately. I tried also with admin right and with just running the exe file. Tried also with windows 7 combatibility, didnt work either.

I have windows 10 home
Intel core i7 - 7700 HQ CPU 2.80 GHz
16. GB RAM

Hi Lucca1,

Sorry to hear about the trouble... have you tried whitelisting the game with your Anti-Virus software in case that is getting in the way with the proper launch of the game?

Sometimes a reboot helps, not that it is needed, but just throwing it out there as PCs can be finicky sometimes.

Thanks for your answer. But even if I deactivate avira antiwir, its still not working. I made a fresh install of the game, but the probblem is the same.

What do you mean with a reboot? Simply a shutdown?

Hi Lucca,

For reboot I just meant to try shutting down your PC and restarting it.

For your issue here, I wonder if it is maybe the Launcher that is causing you issues... can you try running the game directly from the installation folder to see if that might help?

The Matrix version of the game is typically installed here:

\Program Files (x86)\Matrix Games\Strategic Command - World War l

You'll be looking for the file SC3-WWI and if it doesn't work as well, try right clicking on the EXE and selecting 'Run As Administrator..." for this direct launch option as well to see if that helps.

Thank you for your answer. I already did that, so select the exe directly and start as administrator, but that didn't help either. I should also say that I bought the Steam version first, but it didn't work for the same reasons. So I made a refund, uninstalled the game, and bought it new from Matrix Games.

I wonder if perhaps the game is launching but the window is just not showing, e.g. if after you attempt to launch the game, if you use ALT-TAB combined, do you see the black launch window as an option of available windows currently running on your PC?

If it is there and you are able to select it, does it run after that?

Thank you again, but somehow i got to a solution: ¨
Maybe the Problem was that my one drive was activated. So when I delted the ini files, they got somehow replaced? Whatever, I deactivated my One drive and deleted the whol Folder in My Documents/My Games/ SC WWI, after that I could finally start the game.
