Hello
When I play WiF, the air support during battles fails and freezes when too many air units fly to one hex and it freezes at the end of the battle. restore gets me back then I don't send much air or no air then it works fine.
Also I tried getting MacArthur off the Philippines but he gets stuck in the return to base phase and there is no going back. I did not save at a good time.

For the too many planes problem, this could be that some dialogs are hidden behind others - giving the impression the game has frozen. See if you can move them to uncover the one that has focus, or try Alt-Tab to try and get the dialog that is active to come to the front.

As for the "not save at the right time", the game itself saves a lot. In the restore game dialog, select browse and go to the appropriate game folder... there will be a few dozen Axis and Allied saves in the respective folders. You should be able to be able to go to an earlier save that works.
