FPC:SS Vision on Engineering

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

FPC:SS Vision on Engineering

Post by calgar »

Hi,

it comes up every now and then. Often in combination with a comparison to the venerable Assault: Tactical Combat in Europe.

During the stream the Engineering system has been mentioned, like other new features, in only the broadest strokes. One Screenshot in particular has been shared, that showed some limited insights into the engineering Aspects of FPC:SS.

Would it be a good time to ask the Devs to share their vision on some more detailed aspects of the games engineering model?

Some areas of concearn would be

- the types of obstacles now available
- the variaty of engineering assets
- changes to mine warfare
- changes to bridging operations.

I would be very interested in hearing some of the Devs thoughts, or the communities, on these issues

Best wishes,

Calgar

Those broad strokes are all we can say for now. As noted in the interview and seen in a screen shot we have moved to discreet bridging and general engineering units. The rest of the details will have to wait until next year as we get time to do some Developer Diaries and talk in more detail.
OTS is looking forward to Southern Storm getting released!
