Saw your video, can't seem to find your stream for DW1 on twitch though.

That was on the Slitherine channel. :) https://www.twitch.tv/videos/841789954 but will most likely expire after a week or two.

My immediate thoughts about the galaxy view, it doesn't really look very "galaxy" if you know what I mean. I loved the way Distant Worlds 1 showed the galaxy, it was very cartographic, would love to have the ability to add custom galaxy images for the backgrounds to games, also where are the gridlines? how will I find that darn abandoned ship floating around some backwater system if I don't get a "Sector B11" notif? What is the largest galaxy size? I'm already impressed by that being 2000 and I would love it if that was just 'normal'.

And I hope private sector shipping is still visible and present!

We don't know details, but a year ago Erik said that "suffice to say there is still a private economy."

Thread here.

So yes, hopefully that means there's still the ant farm of countless private ships going about their business. [:)]

The look of the galaxy map is not final, FWIW.

DW2 looks so good! BTW what about Linux support?

I asked this in another thread and Erik said that:
DW2 is only planned as a Windows release, unfortunately. The engine does not have the ability to run natively on Linux. I don't know how well it will run in emulation on Linux or Mac, but we'll find out before release and testers who have both Windows and Linux/Mac systems to give that a try during beta would be appreciated.

My account isn't old enough yet to add links; pg 15 of the 2019 xmas sneak peak.

DWU is the best, so high expectations are lurking! But that's a hell of a tease and Christmas present.

Where do we sign up for the beta?

Edit: No character tab... Mmh... slightly worried. By the way, I'd bet this "radar" icon is influence, which is displayed over non-colonized systems as a strength value.
Edit2: Yeah, no, scratch that, may just be detection strength. But then why a tab of its own?
Edit3: Expansion planner? I give up.
