warspite1 (Axis) vs AllenK (Allies) Full Campaign

Post by warspite1 »

AllenK and I are swapping sides so will have two games going.

I refuse to read the manual and so suspect this could be embarrassing, but I'll give it a go and see what happens.

I get a bit of advice as the Japanese player. Looks like Nanning is the primary goal - no wonder AllenK has invested so much in the south in our other game.

...and the advice comes thick and fast. All of the places mention in Manchuria are garrisoned at present. Interestingly it just says 'units' and doesn't specify the size of unit. I wonder if there is some room to swap armies for garrisons....

Based on the advice on screen and the strategy guide, these are the first two Japanese targets I need to give my attention to.

Lol. Really not sure what happened there but the Chinese corps remains intact by 1-point despite my throwing everything at that hex....

Just to round off an excellent turn, I moved the wrong Japanese unit from Formosa so the attack on Nanning is already well behind schedule.

Great start....

I buy a couple of garrisons with my remaining points.

Well I suspect that could have gone better.... The Poles have five units left that can directly block the route to Warsaw.

I say No to this. I might as well wait for the unit to be fully formed.

30 points sounds like a lot for Italy, but hey, why not? It might give the British something else to worry about south of Egypt. I say YES...

Mmmm I had hoped to get Warsaw in two but.... hopefully next turn.

Off Norway my u-boats were attacked by a British task force. A u-boat suffers some damage (down to 7) but in return, I take an enemy CL down to 6.

The Chinese didn't waste good money after bad and didn't attempt to reinforce their battered corps. This was despatched along with another corps.

The Chinese lose a corps east of Changsha. This remains my focus.

The Polish capital falls.

The Germans build a panzer unit and reinforce their airforce.

The Germans are given a decision to make - which really doesn't seem to be much of a decision. I say YES

I see that Britain has occupied ports in Ireland. That will be interesting to see if the effects outweigh the benefits. I believe I saw a report saying he'd declared war for India. This should mean less troops in the desert?

Meanwhile, I'm given some advice
