[1.06b14] Robotic Soldiers and Atmospheric Membranes

Post by jimwinsor »

I've finally got a game to last to the very very late techs, and now I'm not sure how to use them (or if they are bugged???).

1) I researched Robotic Soldiers. So ... how do you build them? There is no special option for them in Raise Formation, or Replacement Troops, or even Workshop. And no special factory building to crank them out, either. Possibly an option in Model design (I have yet to check that ...)?

2) And I researched Atmospheric Membranes. However, I don't see any new farming options that use the tech, as far as I can see. The temperature of my planet is not too extreme, with many hexes around 20 C.

Never mind about Robotic Soldiers, sure enough they are a special Model to discover.

Still not sure about Atmospheric Membranes, although I have a theory that all they do is buff existing Dome Farms?

Robotic Soldiers are a special Model, right after Walkers.

Atmospheric Membranes should make it feasible to use open-air farms on planets that generally don't support them.

However, I find hydroponic plants so much better than all other options, that I don't see any reason to use anything else than those.

As for robotic soldiers: They are indeed their own model type. They can be used just as replacements for normal infantry in all OOBs.
