Damage Thresholds?

Post by SeaQueen »

Does anyone know off the top of their head what damage threshold is considered to be "Light", "Medium," "Heavy" etc.?

I want to define some scenario victory conditions where some things must be destroyed, but other things must suffer no more than "Light" damage. I believe I can avoid using LUA for this.

For what it's worth, I scale mine for the size of the unit/likely DC...

Large vessels, Carriers/BBs/BCGNs I do
25% Light
50% Moderate
75% heavy
then destroyed

Medium sized (Foch, Invincible, LHA/LHD)
33% Moderate
66% Heavy
then destroyed

Little boys (USN) Frigate/Corvette to Cruiser
50% Moderate
then destroyed

Below that, just destroyed

But that is just my system.

I was just hoping to be consistent with the built-in BDA. In this case I was looking at buildings of varying construction.

The scenario is to strike a heavily defended nuclear reactor, specifically hit the centrifuge, research and storage buildings, without damaging the cooling, control or reactor sections to the point where a release of radioactive materials or meltdown is a danger.

I thought that I remembered reading somewhere that the percentage and the "Light", "Medium", "Heavy" ratings were technically not related to each other.

Do you remember where you read that? I suppose it's possible that the BDA might be unrelated to the actual damage, but one would hope that it had SOME relationship. I'd like to set those relationships reasonably.
