More mayhem up at Leningrad.

Someone keeps moving the sleeping bunks.

I hope I don't have to start using the C word. Cannibal.

Which brings me to a point.

It seems the Real Leningrad Russians held out for 1 1/2 years cut off. But here by end of 1941, the Russian Leningrad army rots away.

Something is not right.

And to prove that point the Leningrad Russian AA guns are still at good strength.

I do not think the Germans ever captured all the Lake Ladoga ports, at least not for extended periods. So in game terms, Leningrad was not "isolated."

Historically leningrad was supplied by the ports over lake and over the ice by truck/ski/horse carts. So in the game as long as you can keep one of the ports leningrad can hold out well....when u lose both ports tho its doomed.

The game handles sieges and pockets very poorly. Once the city is cut off, the roughly 70 manpower points in the city produce nothing so the units just wither away due to attrition (approx. 5% per turn but probably increasing as morale goes down). Eventually, the units are just shells and rout. All the German player has to do is to keep in contact with Russian units and wait. It would be slightly different if those manpower points would produce ~3200 soldiers and those soldiers would get sent to the units in the pocket. Also, Osinovets needs to be a higher level port so that fortifications can actually make a difference and cause a delay.

I have rage-quit multiple games because of Leningrad. And yet, I keep coming back.

As long as you keep a port supplies keep flowing....and that includes the manpower.

I do know in one of the patched they allowed cut off manpower to build up to, but it doesnt release until a supply line is re-established....as least that was the last info I had on it.
