Cannot upgrade Mechanized MG to Mechanized Heavy MG

What it says on the tin. Heavy MG is considered an upgrade from the standard MG formation, but mechanized and I think also motorized versions aren't considered as such. So if I want to upgrade to Mech Heavy MG from Mech MG, I have to first downgrade to MG, upgrade to Heavy MG, and then upgrade to Mech Heavy MG. Needless to say this makes little sense and wastes a lot of PP.

For most infantry formations this holds true:


But there do seem to be several formations where it is different. Some upgrade or downgrade paths aren't there, and there are even some cases where the upgrade path is different from the downgrade path (so you can upgrade from one formation to another, but then can't downgrade). Heavy MG Infantry seems to be one of them.

Apparently Vic has to manage each and every link manually. Wich is damn prone to errors.

Be glad, the formation switching mechanics used to be worse.
