PBEM question about versions?

Post by baloo7777 »

If you start a PBEM in beta 10u31, are you able to change to beta 10u41?
Do the new version's fixes work for both players (as long as they both upgrade to the new version)?

Answer is "it depends".

Changes that are made to the EXE apply to a game in progress.

But there are also changes that are in the files, which includes the event scripts, that require a restart.

It doesn't break games. But the scenarios will be the version they started.

Is the beta 10u41 fix of the "0" air unit overrun an EXE or a Scenario fix?

(I have 2 PBEM games going and an AI game (all around the spring 1940 turns)... I keep overrunning the Belgian Air unit turn after turn (in AI game) and after Frances's surrender, there are two new French air counters in England in my AI game and I'm concerned this might happen in the PBEM games).

you would have to email me the game for me to see. But the A.I. moves air out of the way as best it can even if it means moving it to another country

I sent you my AI saved game file.

I've uploaded several screenshots to show what I mean. This is an AI game (me-axis) using beta 10u3. Do you think this could happen in a PBEM game?

Another French air unit after the fall of France in an AI game as Axis using beta 10u3:

I thought so. However, I have 2 PBEM games going using 10u3 that haven't reached this point yet.
