Important, how many of you feel strongly AGAINST games as only downloads?

In the case of GalCiv, you can get them to re-send you your code simply by telling them the e-mail address you originally ordered from. A CD back-up is a good idea though, as it saves time and there's no guarantee that the company will still be in business when you want to download again.
True, true, but for the ones who stay in business, I'm not so sure they'll be all that sophisticated about it. Naturally, being more a wargamer type than a popular gamer type, the stakes are higher when the factor of longevity of the business is taken into account.

Hi Guys

Let me say that some of our titles will be sold as downloads only. Mega Campaigns are a perfect example of this. Please remember that any of Matrix download only products can also be ordered on a CD with our CD on Demand service for small charge. Other products will only be sold only from our online store. The reason for this is it allow us to publish games that have more limited interest. Our third and last way is of course through our online store and through retain stores.

I hope this answers everyone question on this issue.

With a cd possible? That's not a very ruthless download-only policy. ;)

Thanks for the input David.

Hmm while some of us might not "like" the idea, I guess we sometimes might just have to accept it :) .

Oh well things could be worse.

Currently dealing with the reality that MMP might actually indeed expect me to shell out 112 bucks for a module that is like a Mega Campaign only a fringe product for a main game. Not what I call a pretty picture.
At least a Mega Campaign won't cost 112 bucks on a cd hehe.
I LIKE that my life bothers them,
Why should I be the only one bothered by it eh.

To add a reflective note on the subject.

Often we forget, it is better to at least have SOME option as opposed to NO option.

Will we ever see another MC after this? I frankly don't know :)

Considering how much effort I spent on the forum trying to convince people this MC would never exist, and then I ended up actually helping make it (still makes me chuckle).

I will have to settle for realising we sometimes get what we want, sometimes not. We sometimes get told we have a choice, you may have it, but only this way or not at all.
All things considered, being told there won't be ANY options to get something we want, is always worse than any other choice.

I can only hope that my saying to all those that want to play MC-SE, it will be worth the effort to get it, regardless of what you must do to buy it.
I have seen MC-SE, it is a very cool experience.

CD does not imply printed manual anymore. In the past couple of years most games haven't come with a real manual.
