How do I get a juicy railgun to fire on a surface ship?

The gun says that it has anti shipping capabilities and can shoot a million hexes but i cant get it to shoot...😒

Hovering the button over the enemy fleet does nothing. Putting the gun in tactical mode and activating the battleplanner, dosent work either.

Maybe the gun only shoots back if the hex is attacked? Any tips?

Is this gun part of the standard equipment file? If so, what is the name of the gun?

Its a FITE game version 1.9 with a separate eqi. File.

I dont remember the specific name of the guns. But its the same for all the german RR guns in this specific scenario. I just picked up the new version of TOAW so I havent done naval much, if at all.

I'm looking at FITE 2.0's equipment file. The rail guns are set for anti-shipping use in the flags. May be a bug, I wonder if the game wants a unit firing against ships to be on a coastal hex.

It depends on the Unit Icon.

Try using a shore battery icon. There are two of them.

I am 100 procent sure that shore batteries Work in version 1.9 I lost 2 divisions being transported to Finland by being careless. The attack was instantanious as I entered a hex within the range of the shore battery. I think sPzAbt653 and Lobster are correct.
