S&I & China/Japan

In the Europe game GB, US & Germany are the only countries that its important to invest in S&I. US & GB S&I covers SU and Germany covers Italy. How does the S&I relationship between Allies work in the World game? Is it important for China or Japan to invest in S&I?

I can’t speak for Japan but I would say that for China, it is a luxury that they cannot afford

Inf weapons -> inf warfare -> AA x2

After that then you’re still in the game and I’d go Artillery and C&C x2

Its my understanding that its vital to invest in S&I so your opponent doesn't research much faster than you. In Europe game if GB or US S&I is equal to German S&I all research speeds are equal. So in World game the US & GB S&I probably covers SU & China and both Germany & Japan would invest in S&I. You just don't want your opponents S&I higher than yours for a long time.

The exact details of S&I are very complicated.
