Confusion about repair bays

Post by widowmaker »

I know I've posted a question like this before (which was answered), but I'm still confused. Repair bays act as a super-good D.C.S., giving the jock a +100 modifier on his/her/its check, right? Every time I've used a repair bay, the success chance has been 2%. I'll admit the jocks who used them had abysmal Damage Control skills and no onboard D.C.S., but I would think the +100 would count for something. How does this system work?

Your Jock's Damage control skill does affect your chances of success at a repair bay.

Repair bay chance is dcs skill + 100 - (15/30/60) for damage level - jocks health modifier. A healthy jock should get more than 2%. If you think its a bug please send me a savegame so I can check.

You can't repair something that was destroyed, regardless of skill. You can't add armor to a spot that is missing/destroyed either.

Titan-AT $176,000
Experienced jock $450,000
That last 1 mm of armor left when you get to an armor repair bay?
Priceless

I´m not sure about this, but I think once I couldn´t repair a DCS with medium damage in a repair bay. It´s logical to not be able to repair your own DCS with itself, but maybe a repair bay could, just as a mechanic does.

By that formula my jock should have had a 91% success chance. I'll send you a save.

Bug confirmed. Its more a bug of the map than the code. Rosary did made a mistake when defining the repair event.
