Grump

Edmond shut down a thread after someone personally insulted me and my siggy. I did not even get to respond.
"I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing!

“Illegitemus non carborundum est (“Don’t let the bastards grind you down”).”
― Julia Child"

A very curious sig line.

I think they are too modest in the first portion.
I think the second line though is worthy. I wonder why it can't apply to me though?

That is after another insulting post amid a series of posts.

Do you think that I should change my picture to this one? I was saving it for Zorch!

Hey Guys,

Unfortunately, I have had to ban RangerJoe for 1 week for once again posting his foot, after being warned not to.

I hope you can all understand that my hand was forced on this and you guys will continue to enjoy and even be grumpy on the forum.

But we're can't allow/have gore pictures here.

Not something I enjoy doing, it sucks to be cut off from a community that you enjoy and I know that's not a great feeling.

It is always unfortunate, but we do our best so you can enjoy this forum during your lunch break and keep your lunch where it belongs...

Yeah, I get the feeling too. A couple years ago, I used to moderate the forum of one of EA’s games, I can tell it’s not an easy thing to do.[:-]

Thanks for the others, regarding the images. For my part, my stomach is strong. When I was a crown prosecutor, I could read an autopsy report (with photographs) while eating my lunch...[:D]

Hire a nearby teenager. They need to know how to earn money doing odd jobs and how difficult it is to move windrowed (plowed) snow/ice. I've seen many a car try to bash through a windrow and lose. Besides, the economy needs services to get up and running. Your $20 will start that teen buying burgers and fries which will mean the restaurant buys potatoes and ground beef and buns and farmers will keep doing their thing. [:)]

EDIT: Oh, wait! That wasn't grumpy ... I hate lazy teenagers! GRUMP! (how was that?).

Here the senior citizens, and youngsters, used to pick berries in the woods during the season and sell to the berries to the companies. Nowdays there seems to be no one (who lives in Sweden) willing to do this. So they hire seasonal workers from abroad to do it. A lot of people have been coming here from as far away as Thailand to pick berries for a month, or two. This is such an issue so that these seasonal workers gets exemptions from the current travel bans...

Grump!

I used to pick wild berries and sell them.

Cindy Crawdord used to de-tassle corn. Shania Twain used to plant trees by hand in the woods. It was not beneath them to do that.

GRUMP!

I looked up the weather report for Mona Grudt's hometown. I can't post the name because it will be blocked out. It is a word that has four letters and it is in Norway so it would be 1234.no in Internet terms where the numbers are letters which may repeat.

It was 9 F there right now and it is expecting 8 to 16 inches of snow this weekend. It freezes over every winter so if you say that you are going to do something when that certain place freezes over, it does so every winter and you should have already done what you said that you would do when it freezes over.

OH 1234.NO

Grump.

You (all) should know that when I speak of that place I do not refer to a place in Norway. Different places can have the same name.

Grump.

A bit disappointed that the Norwegian place that should not be named is not named after a Goddess whose name it is always safer not to name.

Time for a Geezer update.

On July 1st of 2020 I made the decision to retire early after having just turned 63 on 6/22.

Early retirement comes with a reduced retirement benefit in the good ole USA, but since my house and vehicle are paid for and my overhead is low (well except for the burden of feeding my 10 cats), and my younger brother moved in with me to both reduce his overhead and lend me a hand, I am managing well enough on a third of the income I used to enjoy.

My time now is focused on making a dent in my 150+ model kit collection (working on a diorama of the first lunar landing), playing AE, getting a really serious garden going this year, spending time with my beloved cats and making regular trips to our country dark sky property for stargazing.

Transforming into a full time hobbyist is pure bliss!
Hans
