Yeah, sure looking forward to this. For 'obvious' reasons, it can't be 'called' Squad Leader, but I'm sure everyone is fully aware of why it looks like it. It's been the dream of no small amount of Squad Leader fans.

I so wish I could play genuine ASL more, but let's get real, most ASL owners rarely get to play their game, for the same reason a lot of computer wargamers have that complaint. Life.

I sure want Steel Tigers to be a hit, but, frankly, if they don't come out of the starting gate with a hit that's almost a mirror of Steel Panthers as it exists right now, it's not going to be pretty. I'm pretty much already sold on Second Front. Jo offered me a spot on the team, but I sadly had to take a pass, as I didn't think I had the required time and energy he deserves.

Ideal is Second Front takes over my life the way Steel Panthers did in 2002.

At my core, I like to drive tanks around sort of the same way I like to play with my Barbies :) I know, a weird comparison. I recently realized, I set up my tanks and ATGs and trucks and figures in little scenes about the same way I do with my Barbies. I'm telling stories with them. That's what drew me to Steel Panthers. All my other wargames are just me studying history.

Here is where you can really drive tanks around. Without paying for it with a few years of your life. This is the closest to you. https://www.driveatank.com/

Just kidding of course. But it's a lot less expensive than some other places. And you even get to burn through some light weapons ammo. [;)]

That game looks quite impressive. And just 5-6 bucks is amazing.
Thanks for the alert.

I'm playing it now. It's well worth the price to say the very least. Tons of help but short on the tooltips. Actually, no tooltips, you have to click on things to get help but there's plenty of that. It's a strategy game more than tactics. No bugs so far.
