Feasible options for War in the Europe game

Post by guctony »

I was thinking about what would be most feasible way of creating a war in the Europe game.

I think there can be an interesting solution. Imagine War in the west 2 game connected to WITE2 by Theatre box system. I mean 2 independent game but sharing Theatre box system to share units and Turn results. This can invite Multi-Multi game play also. In far future I guess Strategic air war can be added as such a layer including factory management etc.

This way it wont be necessary to game play balance many things and it wont be a major task to create a huge war in the Europe game. Just a new WITW2 game will be sufficient.

I'd rather get a well-balanced east front game with years of playtesting and patching (hopefully WitE2 in the future) than a hastily released east front game followed by another game at even more grand scale, ie. more difficult to balance.

I mean a grand WiE-game is surely a thing to aspire for, but I really wouldn't want anything to disturb the polishing process of WitE2 into a perfectgem :)

EDIT: The theatre box method you describe would surely be an easy way to balance it out though. Increasing the level of player control in production will surely invite balancing challenges and "gamey" strategic approaches that really don't fit that well in the WitE operational theme, at least imo. I wouldn't mind having more player control myself, but I understand the difficulties it presents for the devs...

Well..one that could be even remotely feasible would be linking WitW game to WitE2 theater box events.
