Stalemate on the East Coast.

Suits me just fine for the moment. Bombings are starting to finally ramp up on the easy targets.

Scoreboard

I sense he is breaking which is good because logisitically I was shot. Out of fuel and ammo everywhere in just about all theatres except China. I was about to halt operations for a week to consolidate and re-group but now......

I will extend aerial search on all my recently seized bases (using Betties mostly) to avoid nasty surprises but I am fairly certain the US CVs have to be around Pearl after their recent near visit to the Home Islands.

The chips are on the table and with just under two months left to go with the amphib bonus, its time to double down. It will take about two weeks to assemble the last hurrah.

Now for the weekly update :-)

Turn rate has been sporadic this week as Lowpe deals with plenty on his plate and is also getting hit by ferocious weather.

Snow and ice is such a foreign concept for me (and most Australians) to grasp. I am just about in a t-shirt all year long (occasionally at night a jumper is required in QLD, significantly colder down south like Melbourne) so I have no idea the grief the recent weather event is causing Nth America.

Anyway morning in Southern QLD- hot and humid

Find a place with a walk in freezer, set the freezer to -30 degrees, put a fan in there, turn the fan on high, now stand in front of it.[:D]
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

Back to the war.

China- the Allies are in a lot of trouble here and the possibilities/opportunities for the Empire are growing by the day.

Kweilin looks to be the key. The second deliberate attack was solid. A shock attack will follow in the couple of turns which should rout the Chinese. After that, based on recon, not too much in the path to stop or slow me down. I think the majority of his combat power is scrambling back from Northern China.

*100k of Chinese troops now trapped at Changsha. I might just leave them there [:D]

Southern Pacific.

Almost finished here. Found another little outpost built up to airfield 2 which I am keen to take out.

The 4th Brigade has been very busy- Baker, Canton, Noumea, Pago and Fiji. All this after a pretty rough start thanks to one of Lowpe's famous naval ambushes which saw about 30 squads attempting to qualify for the Olympic games 1500m swim with full combat loads. Never going to end well.

It was bought out from Manchuria.

Lowpe sees the fleets heading towards the next target but I am guessing/ hoping his ability to interfere the next assault is very limited. Plus he has lost track of KB.

Burma/ India

Quiet here but not by design. If I had the troops available and the required air cover I would be on my way to Bombay.

When I come back to India it will be with a lot more than 1 division. Now just have to find them.

DEI

The Dutch continue to die hard in their solitary remaining outpost.

About 18 units stuck in the mountains and refusing to surrender. Very close now, the last shock attack was 2:1.

I need the IJA units engaged to be elsewhere before the amphib bonus runs out.

That would do it!

There are 3 or 4 hexes in SE Aus, in the hills between Melbourne and Canberra, that get snow every year.
I can’t remember it ever getting much below about -10C though.

Tassie can also get snow when the storms blow up from Antarctica, but nothing like those North American winter storms.
Currently playing my first PBEM, no house rules Scenario 1 as IJ.

I remember one time when the entire state of Minnesota had -100 F windchills or colder.

Well they did change the windchill formula about 25-30 years ago so it isn't as cold as it use to be with windchill.

It is still just as cold, they changed so it doesn't seem as cold when you look at the numbers.

Of course, when it got to -60F someone was pounding nails into a board with a banana!

it is like when we changed calendars the year is still 364.25 days but Octoberfest was mostly in September based on the old calendars used at the time.

Quick update

The results of the first assault on Changsha where 100K of Chinese troops are trapped.

Pretty happy with the results. I should be able to knock it over relatively quickly.

Makes sense Pax but I am thinking about the points.

I might be able to get x 2 points for eliminating the same troops after they regenerate and every point is going to be needed.

I'm worried about how many points Lowpe will accumulate once his strat bombing campaign gets fully underway. He has studied Obvert's approach which means 30K plus he will inflict with minimum fuss.

Well, get your counter-tactics for that anticipated strat bombing in place. If you don't, I don't think there are enough CHI devices to counter ....

Yep I suspect you are correct Pax. Lowpe sometime in 43 is going to roar up the central pacific and try to blow me to bits in 44 through strat bombing. It is going to be hard to stop if he doesn't lose some CVs.
